Busy day crafting?
Sore eyes after catching up on all the latest craftpal postings LOL......treat yourself!
Here are the instructions for making these pads, at the end is further instructions on how to use them and how to present as a gift.
The easiest way to describe what these look like, is ravioli, instead of pasta, it is muslin, instead of meat it is chamomile.
Ruler and pencil
100g (4oz) chamomile flowers
2 peices muslin each 25x25 cm (10 x 10 inches)
Pins
Sewing thread
Sewing machine or needle
Basket, ribons optional
(makes 16 eye pads)
Use a ruler and pencil to mark off 5cm (2 in) sqaures on both peices of muslin,
with 1cm (3/8 in) seam allowance around each sqaure.
Place one piece of muslin on a flat surface and put 1 teaspoon of chamomile flowers in the centre of each square.
Cover with the other peice of muslin and pin. Sew along the guidelines.
Cut four strips of eye pads, being careful to cut between the seam allowances.
To use:
Cut two individual eye pads from a strip of muslim and place in a saucer.
Pour on 1 tablespoon of boiling water.
Cover with another saucer and leave to infuse until cool. Gently squeeze and apply to the eyelids for 15 minutes.
To make these for a gift, fold the bags concertina wise and tie with yellow ribbons, arrange in basket with instructions.
