I just received for Xmas a wonderful bark gift you might want to try.
My father took some great magazine pictures and mod podged them onto a pc. of plywood.
Then he built it up a bit with scrap wood to create a frame, then over that he attached the bark border all around them.
They were fabulous.
My favorite one was a picture of Mattilda's Milnery window view but then he found a pic of a bolt of fabric and he put it on the sign in the picture. It is really nice.
He also sent one of a man in a river fishing with nice trees and scenery and then put in a pic of an eagle landing and it looks
like he's going to take the fish right out of the water. I guess the possibilities are endless.
Another bark project I thought about is to cover the outside of a trashed basket with the bark.
I've seen them covered with cinnamon sticks but think the bark would be equally as effective. Happy Barking! Norma

Subject: bark project
One of my Christmas presents from my son who lives in Arkansas was a huge box of bark (River Birch, I think).
He had found a fallen tree on one of his hikes, and filled up a box. The bark was beautiful and even had pretty fungi--like mushrooms-- dried on it.
Well, unbeknownst to him, I had been wanting to try a project that I had seen in Southern Living.
I hot-glued some of the bark around a terracotta pot. It is beautiful!
