How to dry fall leaves.
glycerin recipe:

1 part glycerin to 1 part water

or you could do

1 part glycerin to 2 parts of water

Fresh leaves:


I submerged the leaves and weighed them down
for about 20 to 30 minutes.

If the glycerin starts to
change colour from clear to brown,

it's time to get your leaves out of the solution.

After I removed the leaves from the glycerin bath,
I just pressed them between the pages of phone books.

I left them there until they were fully dry.

I checked on them every couple of days.

I don't know why..I just did. :) ..

Side A:

On this picture "side A" - the dried leaves, were left in the glycerin solution overnight and it washed away some of the colours.

Side B:

Were left in the solution for about 20 to 30 minutes and the colours were vivid and beautiful.
fall leaves soaked in glycerin are soft and supple The results were soft and supple leaves.

The leaves are great on bookmarks, cards, placemats and to paint on.
My friends painted scenes on their leaves, framed them and give them away as gifts.

To store them: - you can sandwich them between wax paper, insert them in sheet protectors and then store them in a binder until needed.
I just love looking through them.

What did I do with my leaves?
I give them all away. There is always next year.
