house plant diseases
Then I spray the whole plant with an organic insectide. If that doesn't work then I take the plant outside.
I put my plant in a plastic bag, spray the side of the bag with indoor outdoor garden "Raid" close the bag tight and leave if outside for a day. Fold the garbage bag down to the top of the pot and leave it for a day or two and check for bugs. Sometimes I do this three or four times and if it doesn't seem to be working, it's time to close your eyes and throw your plant out.
Most of my house plants problems are Mealybugs.
I use a q-tip soaked in alcohol on those but they usually win.
The others are Spidermites and White Fly. They win too.
Best solution is to inspect your plants thoroughly before bringing them indoors, even if you're really busy. :)
Quarantine the new plants until you're sure they're bug free.
Yes..I'm speaking from experience here and then I ask myself..why?, oh why? :)
Another thing I do is take a healthy cutting from the sick plant and start a new plant. Just in case.
